Ricardo N. Sepulveda M.D.
Ricardo Sepulveda M.D. was born in Illinois and grew up in Monterrey, Mexico. He attended Medical School at the University of Monterrey. Upon graduating, he moved to Houston where he worked with Dr. Charles A. Garcia as a Retina Research Fellow at University of Texas Medical School. During this time he also held a faculty position at the University of Houston College of Optometry where he was involved in the early development of the Adaptive Optics Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope.
In 2004, Ricardo Sepulveda M.D. moved to Cleveland, OH for an internship in General Surgery at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic. He developed an interest in Eyelid and Facial Surgery after working with Dr. Maria Siemionow who performed the first face transplant in the US, and also completed a course in Microsurgery under her supervision.
After his internship he completed a 3 year Ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan and served as Chief Resident in his final year. During this year, Ricardo Sepulveda M.D. spent one month living in Madurai, India learning the Small Incision Cataract Surgery technique at Aravind Eye Hospital. He was then invited to return to the Cleveland Clinic for a fellowship in Refractive Surgery and Corneal Diseases at the Cole Eye Institute.
In 2009 he moved to Houston, TX to work with his friend and mentor Dr. Garcia, where he completed an additional two year surgical fellowship in Retinal and Vitreous Diseases of the eye.
Ricardo Sepulveda M.D. has been involved in Cornea, Diabetes and Macular Degeneration research projects throughout his career, has published in several journals of medicine and co-authored in Adler’s Textbook of Ophthalmology.
Ricardo Sepulveda M.D. has lived in San Antonio for six years with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys living closer to his family in Mexico and the amenities both the city and Texas Hill Country have to offer. He is a third generation doctor and understands the importance of cultivating long lasting doctor-patient relationships. Ricardo Sepulveda M.D. brings over fifteen years of clinical experience with over 10,000 eye procedures to CHES Eye Centers.

Dr. Christian Lopez O.D.
Dr. Christian Lopez is an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and Therapeutic Optometrist having earned his degree at the University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry.
Dr. Lopez then completed a Residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive surgery at the Eye Center of Texas in Houston.
He is trained in completing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, performing pre- and post-operative care for refractive and cataract surgeries.
He values taking the time to listen to each patient’s needs and providing personalized care, as well as fully informing the patient about their ocular health. By keeping up with the latest technology and advancements in eye care, Dr. Lopez provides patients with the best options that fit their unique lifestyle. He prides himself in leading with kindness and compassion and is motivated by creating a long-lasting relationship with his patients.
Dr. Christian Lopez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He recently moved from Houston, TX with his wife and enjoys traveling, watching football and basketball in addition to spending time with his dog, Shelby.
Dr. Robert P. Green Jr.
M.D., M.A., FACS
Robert P. Green, Jr., has had a long and interesting opthalmology career. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving nearly 23 years of active duty. During these 23 years, he was an intercontinental ballistic missile crew commander for 4 years; in medical school for 4 years; in internship 1 year; completed an opthalmology residency in 3 years; was the chief of opthalmology at Andrews AFB for 3 years; attended Flight Medicine Training. At the time of his retirement, Colonel Green was Chief of the Ophthalmology Branch for the Armstrong Laboratory at Brooks Air Force Base. He was an active flight surgeon with over 500 flight hours ( 160 + as a pilot) and had served as a consultant in ophthalmology to the USAF Surgeon General from 1985 to 1993. He received the Legion of Merit and the AF Commendation Medals. He then spent thirty-one years with Opthalmology Associates of San Antonio.
EDUCATION & RESEARCH
As the son of an Air Force flyer, Dr. Green was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and lived in a variety of locations. He received an A.B. degree from the College of the Holy Cross, in 1968, and a Master?s degree (M.A.) from the University of Texas, in 1970, majoring in English literature. In 1978, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed a flexible internship at David Grant USAF Medical Center, Travis AFB in California in 1979 and a residency in ophthalmology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio in 1983.
HONORS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Dr. Green is the author or co-author of 26 publications and has made 51 scientific presentations at local, national, and international meetings. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Green is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of numerous other medical associations and societies, including the Texas Medical Association and the Bexar County Medical Society. In 1989, Dr. Green was named Texas Physician/Scientist of the Year by the Air Force Association. He was president of the San Antonio Society of Ophthalmology for the year 2005 – 2006.
SPECIALTY AND EXPERIENCE
Dr. Green is a general ophthalmologist with broad experience in many areas, including cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma, diabetes, refractive surgery, pediatric ophthalmology, and eye trauma. He uses the latest techniques in cataract surgery, such as foldable intraocular lenses, toric intraocular lenses, bifocal intraocular lenses, and phacoemulsification of the cataractous lens. He was the first opthamlologist in San Antonio to use a LASER in cataract surgery. Dr. Green has a special interest in oculoplastics surgery of the eyebrow, eyelids, and adnexa. Dr. Green has closely monitored the development of refractive surgery to reduce the need for glasses or contact lenses. He has evaluated the many techniques and variations in these techniques through the years. He is well-trained and has successfully performed radial keratotomy (RK), astigmatic keratotomy (AK), and photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). Dr. Green studied in Berlin with Dr. Theo Seilor, one of the pioneers of Refractive Laser Surgery. Dr. Green has performed approximately 9,000 surgeries and numerous LASER procedures.
Dr. Green is an avid golfer but also enjoys swimming, skiing, dancing, and music.
